BroadHop’s Policy Server Performance Test

The Quantum Network Suite manages far more traffic, many more subscribers, and much richer sets of services than any other policy management platform.

To prove this, we teamed up with the European Advanced Network Test Center (EANTC) to benchmark Quantum’s performance capabilities. EANTC created a policy obstacle course that is by far the biggest and most challenging, real world, 3G/4G policy management test to date.

The Quantum Network Suite shattered benchmarks in multiple test areas including:

Most concurrent subscriber sessions — 20x the previous benchmark. Quantum Network Suite supported 20 million concurrent mobile subscriber sessions from a single, 10U server chassis.
Highest performing policy server — almost 2x the previous benchmark. Quantum Network Suite ran 28,000 total policy transactions per second.
Most scalable platform — scaling linearly with increasing volumes. The Quantum platform was remarkably consistent, demonstrating highly predictable transaction rates even as more CPUs were added to handle additional load.

Tests were completed with complex real world policies including voice over LTE, fair use, subscriber lookups, and charging.
